Look Who's Talking
Look Who's Talking is pre-beta. It is an unfinished product under active development. Features and these terms may change, and this page will be updated when they do.
Look Who's Talking is a voice diarisation app. You give it a recording of a conversation — a meeting, an interview, a discussion — and it works out how many people spoke, which parts each of them spoke, and what they said. It reports how much speaking time each person had, as a duration and a percentage, and offers a transcript split by speaker.
"Diarisation" is the technical name for answering "who spoke when"; it is not voice recognition of identity. The app labels people as Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, by voice, and does not attempt to name them unless you type in a name yourself.
The project began as a practical answer to a common problem: recordings of meetings and interviews are easy to make and tedious to work through. Knowing how much each person contributed is often the thing you actually wanted, and reading a transcript is far quicker than listening to one. Look Who's Talking exists to get from a recording to that understanding with as little effort as possible.
How it works, briefly
- Audio is sent from the app to our server for processing. Speaker separation and transcription happen on the server side, not on your phone; the privacy page describes the services involved, where your audio goes, and how long it is kept.
- The results come back to the app and are kept on your device.
- You can optionally connect your own Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive account to back the results up to your own cloud storage.
